May 2026 Events: Denver and Beyond

Denver Fashion Week: Saturday-Sunday, May 1-9 in RiNo Art District. Showcasing emerging, local, and national designers, the 9-day Denver Fashion Show includes daily shows that embody different themes ranging from kids’ couture to sustainability.

Rocky Mountain Stamp Show: Fri-Sun, May 8-10 in Aurora. This weekend of stamp collecting attracts buyers and sellers from around the country to the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds.

Colfax Marathon: Saturday-Sunday, May 16-17. The largest marathon weekend in the Rocky Mountains! The race has grown to be a nationally recognized event featuring unique courses incorporating the iconic landmarks of the Mile-High City.

Mountainfilm In Telluride: Thur-Mon, May 21-25. Held every Memorial Day weekend, the Mountainfilm festival brings together a community of filmmakers and change makers, showcasing documentary films that celebrate adventure, activism, social justice, environment and indomitable spirit

Denver Arts Festival: Saturday-Sunday, May 23-24 in Central Park. 27th annual arts fest showcasing fine art from Colorado and national artists.

Iron Horse Bicycle Classic: Sun-Tues, May 24-26. Every year, thousands of cyclists and spectators gather in Durango to witness an unforgettable test of endurance, grit, and speed as riders race the historic narrow-gauge steam train all the way to Silverton.

FAN EXPO Denver: Thur–Sun, May 28-31, 2026 at the Colorado Convention Center. If you're into comics, sci-fi, horror, anime, gaming, or cosplay, come share a playground. You'll feel out of this world – and right at home.

Durango Blues Train: Thur-Sat, May 28-30. The Blues Train features six live blues performances inside the train coaches with a festive musical environment. Each artist performs in their own vintage coach, while passengers are free to dance their way from coach to coach.

Yampa River Festival: Thur-Sun, May 28-31 in Steamboat Springs. A 4-day festival honoring the greatness of the Yampa River. Kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and rafts compete in various events.

Mike the Headless Chicken Festival: Friday-Saturday, May 29-30 in Fruita. Celebrating the chicken who lived without a head for 18 months. Events include a 5k race, poultry show, disc golf tourney, and car show.

Animas River Days: Saturday-Sunday, May 30-31 in Durango. Weekend celebration on the Animas River through the Whitewater Park. Festivities include kayak, raft, and SUP races, all capped off by a wild river parade with a viewing party from the park.

Yoga on the Rocks: Saturdays | late May to early August at Red Rocks. Every Saturday morning, yogis of all levels can begin their day by flowing in the serene and beautiful outdoor setting of the iconic Red Rock Amphitheatre.
