February 2026 Events: Denver and Beyond
Steamboat Winter Carnival: Wed-Sat, February 3-8. In its 13th year, the Winter Carnival celebration includes events that embrace Steamboat's western heritage and highlight our tradition of winter sports. This unique event includes everything from kids pulled on skis behind horses down a snow-covered main street to the Lighted Man at the Night Show Extravaganza!
High Plains Snow Goose Festival: Thur-Sun, February 5-8 in Lamar. Held in February during the annual migration, this festival is the perfect place to brush up on your birding knowledge with fellow enthusiasts.
Wish Lantern Festival: Friday, February 6 in Silverthorne. Drawing inspiration from Día de la Candelaria and the Lunar New Year, February First Friday will honor cultural traditions as we welcome a new year with our friends and neighbors.
CSCCI Chinese New Year Festival: Saturday, February 7 in Colorado Springs. The 2026 Lunar New Year Festival will have the traditional lion dance, Asian Aerial Acrobats, Taiko drummers, Asian ribbon & fan dances, unique Chinese musical instrument performances, the Dragon Dance, an Asian contortionist, and more. The year of the horse!
Lake City Ice Climbing Festival: Saturday, February 7 at the Lake City Ice Park. Men’s and women’s top-roped and lead speed competitions in secluded Lake City. Enjoy an escape to a secluded winter wonderland, with a few other activities lined up for the weekend.
Audi Power of Four Ski Mountaineering Race: Saturday, February 21 in Aspen. The Audi Power of Four Race Series is a premier endurance race series utilizing the unique and amazing terrain of each of the four Aspen Snowmass Mountains. Each race is designed to test the limits and skills of both elite and recreational athletes.
Colorado Pond Hockey Tournament: Fri-Sun, February 13-15 at Georgetown Lake. All are welcome to enter this ice hockey tournament, with cash prizes. It’s followed by the Apres Ice Party.
Loveland Sweetheart Festival: Saturday, February 14 at the New Foundry Plaza. Bring the family or your sweetheart for free fun in the Sweetheart City, including a day full of live ice sculpting, fire and art demonstrations, musical and dance performances on our community stage, and the Little Miss Valentine & Little Mister Cupid Contest at the Historic Rialto Theater. The Sweetheart Festival is an extension of Loveland’s 80-year history as the nation’s Sweetheart City. There is something for everyone – chocolate, running, art, and much more!
Carnivale & Mumbo Jumbo Gumbo Cook-Off: Saturday, February 14 in Manitou Springs. Start the Mardi Gras weekend and Carnivale Parade festivities with the exciting Mumbo Jumbo Gumbo Cook-Off in Manitou Springs.
Silverton Ski Joring: Sat-Sun, February 14-15. Skijoring is comprised of a single horse typically guided by an insane person occasionally called a cowboy, cowgirl or a rider, pulling a crazy person on skis who simply hangs onto a tow rope like water skiing but at 35-45+ mph racing through Historic Downtown Silverton Colorado on Notorious Blair Street covered in snow while attempting to get the fastest time with the skier trying to fly over jumps and catch rings on a baton while not crashing and burning!
Cripple Creek Ice Fest: Saturday-Sunday, February 14-22. The Cripple Creek Ice Festival brings together elite ice carvers from around the country for live competitions, large-scale sculpture displays, and hands-on fun that feels right at home in the Pikes Peak Region.
WinterWonderGrass: Friday-Sunday, February 27-March 1 in Steamboat Springs. The festival showcases national, regional, and local bluegrass and acoustic roots music.
